Hatricks
Bowen's was West Hams 8th hatrick In the premier league era. For reference a few of the big clubs are in the 40s, even clubs like Everton and Blackburn have at least double our tally.

Is it too much to ask to actually sign a dedicated striker in their prime at hangs around more than two seasons

Re: Hatricks
Vic Watson ..... 13 hat-tricks , 3 lots of 4 and 6 goals against Leeds
We calling those 57 goals just 17 hat-tricks?
And Fowler et al can bow down to their superior

Re: Hatricks
Another little stat, 3 players have scored more hattricks that West Ham as a whole, Fowler with 9, Shearer with 9, and Aguero with 12!

Re: Hatricks
Was looking at hattricks for England, Jimmy Greaves got 6, Lineker got 5, Kane in a position to be number 1 as currently on 5, pretty impressive!

Re: Hatricks
Alright not in the premier league but Geoff Hurst had nine hattricks over 14 years*

Don't know if that includes the double hattrick in the 8-0 demolition of Sunderland*

Re: Hatricks
Di Canio got 5 BRACES but never a hat-trick
Probably most famous was one v Arsenal at Upton Park where for one goal he turned old MONKEYS HEAD KEOWN inside out

Re: Hatricks
Don't think Di Canio ever got one for us. Kitson's one against Charlton was a funny one as I think he'd been out the side for ages.

Re: Hatricks
My recollection of the 3-3 draw with Arsenal with Carroll's hat-trick is that we should have had a couple more.
Payet took the ball off a defender on the byeline close to goal and tucked it away and was brought back for a supposed foul on the defender
And Lanzini (yes, Lanzini) headed in a ball cut back and was given offside .... at least a foot or two ONSIDE in pre VAR days

Maybe my memory fails me but we should have smashed them

Re: Hatricks
Tony Cottee scored more hatricks in his career than West Ham have got in the entirety of the premier league. Tbh I don't think we ever replaced him...

Re: Hatricks
Doesn't make great reading does it, I'd like to think Ashton would have been our new kitson and would have have got at least 2 or 3, fucking SWP!

McAvennie got one in his last game against Forest. Think Billy Bonds said to him "Who writes your scripts?!"
